FAQ for Parents / Students
- How do I request a tutor?Requesting a tutor is simple and hassle-free. You can either submit a request through our online form or contact us directly at +65 8974 8515 (SMS/WhatsApp). Our coordinators will assist you with your request promptly.
- How long does it take to receive tutor recommendations?Once we receive your request, our team will contact you within *12 hours to confirm your details. You can expect a shortlist of suitable tutors within *48 hours or less.
*Subject to Mondays to Fridays 9am to 6pm, Saturdays/Sundays and Public Holidays not included. - Are there any charges for requesting a tutor?No, there are no fees or hidden charges for parents or students.
Our agency commission is paid by the tutor — typically 50% of the first month’s tuition fee.
Example: If the monthly fee is $200, we will collect $100 (50%) from you after the 2nd week, and the remaining $100 is paid directly to the tutor at the end of the month. - How do I make payment?You may make payment via bank transfer or Paynow to our Company UEN details:

Alternatively, we can arrange for collection. An invoice will be emailed to you when payment is due. - What if I’m not satisfied with my tutor?Replacement of tutor is free of charge. However, payment for completed lessons must still be made.
We encourage you to share your feedback so that we can assign a better match for your child. - Liability & Conflict ResolutionAfter the first two weeks (commission period), Find My Tutor will no longer mediate or verify payments between you and the tutor. We are not liable for any disputes or conflicts arising between you, your family, and the tutor. Any assistance we provide does not imply legal liability. We will consider emergencies on a case-by-case basis.
- Last-Minute CancellationsIf you need to postpone or cancel the first lesson, you must inform Find My Tutor or your tutor at least 12 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in a charge of 50% of the first lesson fee, as compensation for the tutor’s time and travel. We will review genuine emergencies on a case-by-case basis.

The lesson schedule is confirmed by both the tutor and client.
For the first lesson, the tutor will show a basic ID (e.g., NRIC, Driving Licence, or Singpass).
Contact details of both tutor and client will be sent via SMS/Whatsapp/email 48 hours prior to the start of the first lesson. Kindly acknowledge promptly.
- If you do not receive them, please contact us immediately.
- Even if not acknowledged, the lesson is still confirmed and must be attended.
Any changes should be coordinated through Find My Tutor.
After the first lesson, the client and tutor may arrange future lessons directly.
Any changes to lesson duration, frequency, or schedule after the first lesson must be informed to us.
All lessons are chargeable, including the first lesson.
Payment Terms
1. Payment
Lessons are structured by a per month block.
Payment to be made to FMT after 50% of the lessons (Two Weeks) are completed.
Payment may be made via the following methods:

Alternatively, you may scan our PayNOW QR code that can be found on our invoice.
Subsequent payments are to be made to the tutor directly.
2. Discontinuing Lessons- Should you decide to discontinue the lessons after the first session, kindly inform Find My Tutor soonest possible.
- All lessons conducted must still be paid to Find My Tutor.
- Cancelling the first lesson less than 4 hours before the start time will incur 50% of the lesson fee as compensation for the tutor’s time.
4. Changing Tutor- Can be requested after the first completed lesson.
- A one-month commitment is recommended for assessment of suitability.
- Only fees for lessons already conducted are payable.
5. Cancellations Within the First 4 Weeks- Parents are required to pay for all lessons conducted.
- Find My Tutor will receive 50% of the attended lessons.
- Find My Tutor will reassign a suitable replacement tutor as soon as possible.
6. Tutor-Initiated Cancellations
If a tutor cancels due to personal, medical, or compatibility reasons:- Parents are required to pay for all lessons conducted
7. First Lesson Postponement or Cancellation- At least 4 hours’ notice is required.
- Less than 4 hours’ notice incurs 50% of the first lesson fee, split equally between Find My Tutor and the tutor.
- Emergencies will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
8. Late Payment Charges- Late fees of $50 per 14 days may apply for overdue payments exceeding one month.
- Additional administrative charges may be added depending on recovery efforts.
FAQ for Tutors
- How do I register as a tutor?Simply fill up our Tutor Registration Form on our website. Once your profile is approved, you’ll start receiving suitable assignments based on your subjects, levels, and location preferences.
- How are tutors matched with students?Our coordinators will contact you via SMS or WhatsApp when there’s a suitable assignment. We’ll confirm details such as level, subject, location, rate, and availability before connecting you with the client.
- How and when do I get paid?Parents pay us the first two weeks’ tuition fees, which form our agency commission.
From the third week onward, you’ll receive full payment directly from the client. Always keep clear records of your lessons and payments. - Terms and Conditions1. Eligibility
- To register as a tutor with Find My Tutor, you must be at least 18 years old and be either a Singapore Citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident, or a valid Employment Pass holder.
- Tutors must possess a minimum qualification of GCE A-Level certification or a relevant Polytechnic Diploma to be eligible for registration.
2. Registration- Upon registration, your personal details will be recorded in our tutor database. Find My Tutor reserves the right to use this information to promote and match your tutoring services to prospective parents and students.
- By registering, you confirm that all information provided is accurate, truthful, and complete. Under no circumstances should tutors misrepresent their qualifications, experience, or identity to clients under Find My Tutor.
3. First Lesson Obligations- Once a tuition assignment is confirmed, a Find My Tutor coordinator will contact you via SMS/Whatsapp or phone call to arrange for the first lesson. Tutors are required to personally contact the client as a form of introduction and acknowledgement to confirm the assignment.
- Failure to attend the first lesson without a valid reason will result in immediate termination of your service, and the assignment will be reassigned to another suitable tutor.
- If you are unable to proceed with an assignment after confirmation, a minimum notice period of 72 hours (3 days) must be given.
- Tutors are required to present relevant educational certificates or transcripts to the client during the first lesson for verification if need be.
4. Commission & Payment- Find My Tutor will collect 50% of the first month’s tuition fees or the first 4 weeks of lessons conducted (whichever is higher) as commission.
- This commission is collected directly from the parent.
- Tutors must not collect 100% of fees from the parent during this period.
- A 50% upfront deposit is collected upon assignment confirmation.
- If any lessons are cancelled within the first 4 weeks, commission payable remains unchanged and will be calculated based on the initially agreed lesson schedule, regardless of the number of lessons actually conducted.
- Any changes to lesson frequency, duration, or cancellation must be reported to the assigned coordinator immediately. Find My Tutor reserves the right to recalculate commission accordingly.
- Any act of fraud, non-payment, or deliberate avoidance of commission will be referred to the Small Claims Tribunal.
- Any commission discounts apply only upon full completion of the agreed number of lessons within the first 4 weeks. Failure to do so will result in the standard 50% commission rate remaining applicable.
5. Tutor Conduct & Professionalism- Tutors are expected to uphold the integrity and professionalism of the teaching profession at all times.
- Tutors must be punctual, reliable, and responsible. Any absence, delay, or cancellation must be communicated promptly to both the coordinator and the student.
- Tutors who withdraw from or abandon assignments without valid reasons may have their fees revoked by Find My Tutor, and in such cases, full lesson fees paid by the parent will be retained by Find My Tutor.
