Tutor Terms & Conduct Policy

1. Accuracy of Information

1.1 Tutors must provide truthful, accurate, and verifiable academic qualifications and personal information.
1.2 Clients may request proof of qualifications at any time.
1.3 Submission of false, misleading, or unverifiable information may result in termination of assignments and reporting to police.

2. Professional Conduct

2.1 Tutors must act with integrity, professionalism, and accountability at all times.
2.2 Any form of misconduct, negligence, or unprofessional behaviour may result in immediate termination of current and future assignments.
2.3 Find My Tutor is not liable for any actions, omissions, or damages arising from the tutor’s conduct.
2.4 Clients reserve the right to terminate the assignment or report the matter to the authorities if the tutor’s behaviour is unacceptable.
2.5 Tutors must adhere to agreed rates and timeslots; any changes require mutual consent and at least 48 hours’ notice.
2.6 In case of illness, a valid medical certificate (MC) may be requested.
2.7 Tutors must confirm all lesson details and assess logistics, including travel, before accepting an assignment.

3. Scheduling and Communication

3.1 Tutors are required to schedule all subsequent lessons directly with the student after the first completed session.
3.2 After the first lesson, tutors must communicate all personal, payment, and cancellation terms clearly to the client.
3.3 Any lesson postponement requires at least 2 days’ prior notice.
3.4 Lessons may only be rescheduled with mutual agreement from the client.

4. Assignment Commitment

4.1 Tutors are expected to commit to all assignments for a minimum of 3 months unless explicitly stated otherwise.
4.2 Regular communication with parents regarding student progress is mandatory.
4.3 Breach of this commitment without valid reason may result in negative internal rating or blacklisting from all Find My Tutor platforms.
4.4 Tutors unable to meet the commitment due to exceptional circumstances must notify Find My Tutor immediately.

5. Commission and Payment

5.1 Find My Tutor charges a one-time commission equal to the first two weeks of tuition, generally collected directly from the client.
5.2 Any additional tuition services within the first month (e.g., lessons for siblings or extra subjects) must be reported and are subject to commission.
5.3 Tutors receiving the commission directly from the client must remit the corresponding amount to Find My Tutor immediately as stated on the invoice.

6. Short-Term Assignments

6.1 Assignments less than 10 weeks are classified as short-term.
6.2 Standard commission: 25% of total lesson fees, subject to a cap based on total lessons.
6.3 In case of discontinuation, the tutor receives 75%, Find My Tutor collects 25%.
6.4 Tutors cancelling without valid reason forfeit all fees.
6.5 Find My Tutor’s decision is final on all disputes.

7. Tutor Cancellation

7.1 Clients are entitled to request a change of tutor at any time.
7.2 If tuition is cancelled or changed by the client within the first four (4) weeks of lessons:

  • Find My Tutor will collect 50% of the total lesson fees as commission.
  • The tutor will receive the remaining 50% of the lesson fees.

7.3 Tutors will forfeit any entitlement to fees under the following circumstances:

  • Cancellation of the assignment by the tutor without valid reason.
  • Delivery of lessons below satisfactory standard.
  • Submission of false, misleading, or inaccurate information in the tutoring profile.
  • Failure to provide supporting documentation for claimed qualifications.

7.4 Once an assignment is confirmed through any communication channel (SMS, WhatsApp, Email, or Phone), tutors are required to complete a minimum of four (4) weeks of lessons. Non-compliance may result in blacklisting from future assignments.
7.5 Tutors must provide at least two (2) days’ notice for lesson postponements. In cases of sudden illness, a valid medical certificate (MC) may be requested.
7.6 Lessons may only be rescheduled with the explicit agreement of the client.

8.Last-Minute Cancellations

8.1 First lesson: Cancellation <12 hours before lesson → client pays 50% of lesson fees to tutor.
8.2 Second lesson and beyond: Tutors must clearly communicate their personal cancellation policies to clients. Find My Tutor is not responsible for disputes.

9.Responsibilities and Logistics

9.1 Tutors must verify lesson locations and assess all logistical requirements, including transportation, before accepting assignments.
9.2 Rescheduling is only permitted with mutual client consent.
